The Upper Keys Humane Society is dedicated to, and working towards, ending cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals while providing the highest quality of life to those in their care. They receive no federal, state, or local government funding and rely solely on donations, program services, and special events.

The Florida Keys SPCA is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of all animals through compassionate care, adoption, education, population control and humane law enforcement. FKSPCA does receive funds from Monroe County to provide animal control services in their jurisdiction. They are a completely independent, private, not-for-profit organization and rely on donations.
The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a not-for-profit charitable animal welfare organization supported solely by donations, private grants, and fundraising events. They rely on the local community for financial support.
The Humane Society of Broward County, like their sister locations, rely on the local community for financial support. They had taken in 55 cats and 5 dogs from the Upper Keys Animal Shelter and transported 164 of our adoptable animals from Fort Lauderdale to California, prior to Hurricane Irma.
One By One Dog Rescue, Inc. is a new South Florida dog rescue dedicated to rehabilitating, training, and loving dogs that have been unloved, mistreated, and abandoned at Miami Dade Animal Services. When the dogs are ready, they put them up for adoption.
Operation PAW is an all volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless animals in South Florida. Operation PAW’s mission is to change the status quo and help our community become no-kill.  They seek to strengthen the bond between humans and animals through various programs, legislative reform and pet counseling.
